Through mentorship, financial support, and networking opportunities, The Ochs Scholarship is a program that looks to help upcoming property managers develop the skills and connections to become future leaders. 

About The Ochs Scholarship 

The Ochs Scholarship program offers support to future property managers through mentorship, financial aid, networking events, and community involvement. Recipients receive personalized guidance from experienced professionals, financial help for career advancement, opportunities to expand their professional network, and encouragement to volunteer in the industry. This holistic approach, supported by the collaboration with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), helps individuals succeed in property management by providing the necessary tools, connections, and resources for their growth and development within the broader real estate industry community facilitated by IREM. 

Quick Facts

• 18 participants participated in a 2-year mentorship program

• 6 individuals benefited from a 1-year mentorship program, inclusive of membership dues and event allowances

• 6 recipients had their membership dues covered with an additional event allowance

• 5 scholars received conference or retreat scholarships/allowances

• A generous donation of $30,500 from Robb Ochs has been contributed to support the program

"For my 2nd year Kristen recognized that I had a huge life event with the birth of my 1st baby, and that my goals had changed on what I’d like to get out of this scholarship which was how to prioritize a work-life balance while still working to excel in this career. Based on this goal, she paired me with Lacy Showers. Lacy has been a fantastic mentor, and always available for guidance - whether personal or professional."

Even during her first year, Ashlyn found value in the knowledge and experience about property management that Melissa, her mentor, shared:

"During my first year, my mentor was Melissa Day. I’ve worked primarily in medical and commercial office buildings during my real estate career, so I appreciated learning more about industrial property management. After all of her years in property management, she had such a wealth of knowledge to share with me."

Embracing the scholarships emphasis of community engagement, Ashlyn actively participated in volunteer initiatives within the IREM community, deepening her connections and expanding her impact:

"As this scholarship also encourages us to volunteer with IREM, I’ve had the opportunity to get even more involved with our local chapter including volunteering for Heroes for the House, the Golf Outing, Outreach, and the 2025 Social Media Chair."

Our Mission 

We hope that everyone that comes through our program leaves with new skills. Anything from being able to network to gaining training certificates is important to us. By investing in the next generation of property leaders, The Ochs Scholarship Program has become a developmental pathway to success. It has shown dedication to building talent, providing support, and creating more leaders like Ashlyn. The program is still growing, and we are looking to guide as many future industry experts as we can.
